Joining the growing league of supporters, a number of government employees, who originally belong to the farming families, are also visiting Delhi borders to support the ongoing protest against the central farm laws.

Some employees of the Muktsar Market Committee recently went to Delhi borders, distributed chyawanprash and other items among the protesting farmers. A senior officer of the Markfed recently uploaded his photo on facebook from Tikri border protest site. Similarly, some young constables, too, have visited the Delhi borders to support the stir.

Some government employees even went live on Facebook from the protest sites. “I am a government employee, but farmer as well. The farmers of Punjab, Haryana and some other states are lodging indefinite protest for their rights and it becomes the duty of every farmer to support them. They are not fighting the battle of an individual or a group, but for

the entire community. It is our right to lodge protest,” said an official.

Similarly, a health department official, who spent three days at Singhu and Tikri borders, said, “In this fight against the black laws, we are all united. We are farmers first and thereafter the government employees.”
