Mohali, June 13

A local court today remanded former Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and his two aides — Chamkaur Singh and Kamaljeet Singh — in judicial custody.

Dharamsot and his two aides were nabbed by the Vigilance Bureau (VB) on June 7 after registration of a graft case against them and sent to three-day police custody. Their police custody was further extended by three days.

The VB today produced the three in the Mohali court today and sought an extension of police custody for two days, but they were sent to judicial custody. The next hearing is slated for June 27.

Meanwhile, contractor Harmohinder Singh and Mohali DFO Guramanpreet Singh, held over the illegal construction of farmhouses on forest land, will be produced in a court after their police custody ends tomorrow.

Interestingly, Dharamsot has been sent to the jail in Nabha, from where he is an ex-MLA, while his OSD Chamkaur Singh has gone to the Central Jail, Patiala. Dharamsot’s media adviser Kamaljeet Singh has been sent to Ropar prison.
