This milestone reflected the state government’s strong commitment to the welfare of Anganwadi workers and helpers, who played a critical role in the development and well-being of women and children across the state, she added. By facilitating access to quality healthcare through the Ayushman Bharat scheme, this initiative aims to empower these workers to continue their invaluable service to society.

The minister lauded the team for their hard work and dedication. She said, "This is a moment of pride for the state. With Aadhaar verification nearing completion, we are now able to move swiftly towards issuing Ayushman Bharat health cards to our workers and helpers, ensuring they receive the healthcare support they rightfully deserve. Their tireless service to society is immeasurable, and we are committed to safeguarding their well-being."

She said the Ayushman Bharat scheme provided up to ₹5 lakh in annual health coverage per family, and the initiative would ensure that Anganwadi workers and helpers benefitted from cashless healthcare services, adding that the Department of Women and Child Development was closely collaborating with the Health Department to expedite the issuance of these cards, leaving no worker behind.

She added the department remained dedicated to reaching 100 per cent Aadhaar verification in the coming days.
