New Delhi, June 19
Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney has urged the DGP, Punjab, to take strict action against illegal agents who are banned by the Government of India, but are functioning in the state.
Sahney said he was impressed with the Special Task Force of Punjab Police’s action against the agents in case of the girls coming back from Oman under the government’s initiative ‘Mission Hope’.
Sahney said the Ministry of External Affairs had issued a list of illegal recruiting agents whom they found fraudulent and had banned them.
The list has 170 recruiting agents from Punjab, he said.
Sahney said he is committed to bringing home every son and daughter of Punjab who were stuck in foreign countries under his initiative ‘Mission Hope’, but it is equally important that the outflow of the youth to foreign countries through these fraudulent agents should stop otherwise it would always remain a vicious cycle.
