Heroin worth Rs 32 cr seized

The BSF sleuths belonging to the 136th battalion have foiled yet another bid of peddlers trying to smuggle a huge consignment of heroin into the Indian territory.

They seized six packets of heroin, weighing 6.5 kg, near BOP Shamas area in this sector.

As per information, the estimated price of the seized consignment is pegged at Rs 32.5 crore in the international market.

Meanwhile, on September 24, the BSF sleuths belonging to the 116th battalion had seized 13 kg of heroin worth Rs 65 crore in the international market from an area close to the Rattoke border outpost. On September 7, the sleuths belonging to 124th battalion had seized four packets of heroin weighing 2 kg near the Jallo Ke border outpost.

This year, 420.914 kg of heroin has been seized by the BSF in the state to date.
