Honey trap gang busted, 8 held

With the arrest of five women and their three accomplices, the district police claimed to have busted a gang of blackmailers. Acting against the gang who were allegedly blackmailing people by ensnaring them in their nets, Jalalabad police station in-charge SHO Angrej Kumar registered a case under Sections 61(2) of the BNS on the statement of Surinder Kumar, a resident of Baghe Ke Uttar village. Cash and cheques have also been recovered from the arrested accused.
The suspects have been identified as Jotam Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur, Sunita Kaur, Krishna Rani, Chhindo Bai, Aman, Sukhchain Singh and Gobind Singh. The accused allegedly targeted Surinder Kumar in a honey trap conspiracy and stole a mobile phone from him. He was allegedly forced to pay lakhs of rupees.
The police said the suspects used to blackmail people by making obscene videos of them. SSP Varinder Singh Brar said such nefarious gangs would not be allowed to operate. — OC
