The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kapurthala, organised a seminar on Tuesday at the Central Jail, Kapurthala, to mark Human Rights Day. The event was led by Rajwant Kaur, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA, Kapurthala.

During her address, Rajwant Kaur highlighted the significance of safeguarding the rights of inmates and ensuring access to justice through the Free Legal Aid Scheme. She emphasised the authority’s commitment to providing legal assistance to those in need.

She also informed the gathering that, on the last Friday of every month, a team of doctors visited the jail to conduct health check-ups for inmates.
