The Income Tax Department continued its raids at the residence of Kapurthala Congress MLA and former minister Rana Gurjeet Singh for the second day on Friday.

The raids were conducted at 35 locations in Kapurthala, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand and UP linked with Rana, his family and staff. Since yesterday, Rana, his son and Sultanpur Lodhi MLA Rana Inder Partap and others have not been allowed to move out of their Sector 4 house in Chandigarh or talk to anyone over the phone.

The Ranas own sugar mills, distilleries and ethanol plants in Punjab, Uttarakhand and other places.
