The Conservator of Forests (North Circle) Hoshiarpur, Sanjeev Kumar Tewari, has been given an additional charge of the Conservator of Forests (Shivalik Circle).

Last month, the Punjab Chief Secretary had issued orders posting Tewari, a 2007-batch IFS officer, as the Chief Conservator of Forests (Hills) and asked the Forest Department to issue the orders.

A senior government functionary, however, said Tewari could not be posted as the Chief Conservator of Forests till September this year (when the post would become vacant) though he was working at level 14 of the pay grade matrix.

Tewari also holds five other charges in the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs — Special Secretary of the department; Director, Tourism and Cultural Affairs; Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board; CEO and GM, Virasat-e-Khalsa, Anandpur Sahib; and Managing Director, Punjab Tourism Development Corporation Limited.
