IMD forecasts more rain in Punjab over next three days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Punjab, forecasting light to moderate rain at some places over the next three days.

Heavy rainfall has also been predicted at isolated places. Over the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain occurred at some places in the state, while heavy rainfall was reported from isolated places. The monsoon activity in the state was described as “normal” by the IMD. SAS Nagar was the wettest district having received 46.6 mm of rainfall during this period, followed by Ropar with 22.5 mm and Muktsar with 6.8 mm. The seasonal rainfall in Punjab since June 1 is 24 per cent above the long period average.
