Woman dies as car rams into stray animal

Muktsar: A woman from Mandi Harzi Ram in Malout town lost her life after a stray animal hit the car she was travelling in on the Bathinda-Malout road on Sunday night. The deceased, Ritika Bansal, was returning from Bathinda along with her husband, Jimmy Bansal, and their daughter when the mishap occurred. The other two travellers sustained injuries.

522-gm heroin dropped in farm fields ‘via drone’

Abohar: A packet containing 522 gm of heroin was recovered from a cotton field in Sangatpura village in Sriganganagar district near the Indo-Pak border late on Sunday evening. The packet was believed to be smuggled from Pakistan through a drone as it had a latch attacked to it and something written in Urdu language.
