Actor Sunny Deol booked

An FIR has been lodged here against Bollywood stars Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh and two other members of the crew of the recently released movie "Jaat". Film director Gopichand Malineni and producer Neveen Melineni have also been booked. The film was released on April 11. Complainant Viklaf Gold alleged the film crew exhibited disrespect towards Jesus Christ.

Gangster Landa’s 2 aides held

The Anti-Gangster Task Force and the Tarn Taran police arrested two accomplices of gangster Lakhbir Singh, alias, Landa Harike, and Satta of Naushehra Pannuan after a brief encounter near Jawanda village on Friday. The accused have been identified as Yuvraj Singh Jagga and Mehakpreet Singh. The police seized two pistols and cartridges from them. SSP Abhimanyu Rana said they were responsible for firing at Sarpanch Gurpreet Singh of Naushehra Pannuan on March 21.

Two killed in road mishap

: Two youths were killed after an SUV overturned near Chakerian village in Mansa. Two other persons were seriously injured in the accident. Gagan Singh, one of the deceased, had returned from the US for his wedding that took place around three months ago. The second victim, Aman Singh, was Gagan’s cousin. The accident occurred late at night while the youths were returning to their village from Mansa. The driver reportedly lost control on the vehicle after a dog suddenly came in front of the SUV.

Crop survey orders revoked

The Anandpur Sahib SDM has revoked with immediate effect the April 17 orders regarding deployment of government school teachers for “digital crop survey” in Education Minister’s constituency. A communication in this regard has been sent to the authorities concerned.
