Chandigarh, June 28

During the Zero Hour discussion of ongoing budget session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday, CM Bhagwant Mann promised to bring an all-party resolution against the Agnipath scheme.

The demand to do so was made by Congress Legislature Party leader Partap Bajwa. BJP MLA Ashwani Sharma opposed the move.

Sharma said the House was being misled on the issue. There were heated arguments between the treasury benches and Sharma.

During Zero Hour, Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira demanded condemnation of banning of Sidhu Moosewala’s ‘SYL song’ from YouTube on the BJP-led Centre’s complaint.

CM Bhagwant Mann said he is in favour of the freedom of speech.

Education Minister Meet Hayer informed the House about bringing in a resolution against the change in the nature and character of Panjab University in Chandigarh. The resolution would be taken up later, said Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan.
