Replying to a question on youths, particularly Punjabis, forcefully inducted in the Russian military for the Ukraine war, during Zero Hour, NRIs Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said the state government has raised the matter with External Affairs Ministry and Russian Ambassador.

MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney urged the Ambassador of India to Russia, Pawan Kapoor and Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar to repatriate Indians stranded in Russia

Sahney said he had also reached out to the Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov and Deputy Chief of Mission in India Roman Babushkin to take up the matter with the officials concerned

Dhaliwal, in his reply to a question raised by Congress MLA Pargat Singh, said action would be initiated against the violators of visa norms or the Immigration Act, particularly against the agents who had duped the youths, promising to transport them to the USA. Dhaliwal said the names of the youths stuck in Ukraine are Gagandeep Singh, Lovepreet Singh, Narain Singh, Gurpreet Singh (21) and Gurpreet Singh (23).
