Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Harpal Cheema today chaired a high-level meeting with all Administrative Secretaries of the state government, emphasising the need to intensify efforts for capital creation and revenue generation.
He said strategic moves aimed at further accelerating the growth of the state’s GDP are the need of the hour.
During the meeting, Cheema directed the officers to identify potential areas for capital creation within their respective departments. He also stressed on the importance of exploring neglected sectors where the government could generate revenue. The minister also directed the officers to timely utilise the development funds for various projects, thereby preventing any lapse of funds.
Chief Secretary KAP Sinha and Principal Secretary Finance Ajoy Kumar Sinha engaged in discussions with the administrative secretaries highlighting areas where efforts could be made to create capital and generate revenue.
