Besides, a first-ever session of the Vidhan Sabha will be held outside Chandigarh, at the historic Bhai Jaita Memorial.
Education and Information and Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced that the interfaith conference, being organised by the state government, aimed to promote religious harmony, communal unity and brotherhood.
The local MLA said spiritual leaders, saints and eminent personalities from India and abroad would participate to disseminate the universal message of peace envisioned by the Gurus.
Bains said Punjab’s diverse religious fabric makes such a gathering deeply significant. “The Gurus have always taught us to serve humanity selflessly and live with humility. The Sarvadharma Sammelan is an inspiring effort to reinforce this message,” he said.
He added that Guru Ka Bagh Cantonment, associated with the illustrious history of Baba Budha Dal, serves as a befitting venue for an event dedicated to unity across religions.
The minister said the government was organising various commemorative events to spread the high ideals of Sikhism, and the interfaith conference is an important component of these efforts. He extended an open invitation to spiritual organisations, saints, community groups and the general sangat to participate, saying such gatherings helped strengthen the moral foundations of society and inspire youth towards constructive values.
He further said preparations were in full swing for the historic Vidhan Sabha session. With both the interfaith conference and historic Assembly session, Sri Anandpur Sahib is poised to become the centre of major spiritual and political activity, marking a significant moment in Punjab’s contemporary history, said the minister.
