Jalandhar, June 23

The residents of Kot Kalan village near Jalandhar Cantonment today celebrated the occasion as a native, Pardeep Singh Tiwana, has got appointed as the first Indian Judge of a County Court in Australia.

The villagers made a congratulatory banner with his pictures and distributed sweets as soon as they got the information.

Tiwani (51) was born and brought up in England. He got a Law Degree from the University of Wolverhampton with first class. He did Barrister study from Bar School of Lincoln’s Inn and got two scholarships from Bar School. He did Chamber Practicing till 2006. The same year moved to Australia. He did three months Law Course in Australia Melbourne University. From 2006 till date, he is serving as a Criminal Lawyer with Independent Practicing.

Paramjit Singh Raipur, SGPC member and a close family friend, said the villagers organised a function at the gurdwara. “Pardeep’s father Ajit Singh Tiwana has been friends with me. He comes to the village annually, but he has not been able to make it this time owing to Covid,” he said.
