Japanese firm commits Rs 400-crore investment in Punjab

Japanese company Toppan Speciality Films Private Limited (TSF) has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the Punjab Government, committing to invest Rs 400 crore in the state.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who is on a tour to Japan, said the TSF and Invest Punjab had agreed to support and collaborate in initiating a Skilling Excellence Centre in Punjab. It would train skilled and semi-skilled workers, besides focusing on high-end technical skills to meet global standards, he added.

The MoA would also facilitate apprenticeship opportunities, besides generating job avenues in TSF and big units in Punjab and across India. Mann said it would also lay thrust on academic collaboration in terms of joint development and delivery of training with a polytechnic or technical institute.
