Judicial officer Ramesh Kumari was on Wednesday sworn in as an additional judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Chief Justice Sheel Nagu administered the oath at a simple yet impressive ceremony attended by sitting and retired judges, bureaucrats, relatives, and members of the legal fraternity.

The number of judges with her appointment has gone up to 60.

But the high court continues to grapple with a shortage of 25 judges. The sanctioned strength of the high court is 85.
