Anandpur Sahib, Dec 22
Baba Harbhajan Singh Pahalwan (75), the head of Kila Anandgarh, passed away late on Saturday.
After his cremation today, Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma nominated two new heads of Kila Anandgarh Sahib sparking a controversy. Dhumma announced the names of Baba Satnam Singh and Baba Sucha Singh immediately after the cremation.
Baba Harbhajan Singh was appointed the chief of Kila Anandgarh six months ago after the death Pullanwala Baba Labh Singh. Before his death, Baba Labh Singh had formed a trust and even announced Pahalwan his successor.
Though Dhumma announced Baba Satnam Singh and Baba Sucha Singh as new heads of Kila Anandgarh, trust secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhaur termed it against the norms.
Bhaur said the name of the new chief must be cleared by the trustees first. He said neither the trust had convened any meeting in this regard nor he was informed about any such move. A meeting of the trust would be called soon to discuss the new development, he added.
Baba Dhumma, however, could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
