Punjab: Kirti Kisan Union to organise statewide protests against Haryana Police on February 29
Chandigarh, February 25
The Kirti Kisan Union has called for protests on February 29 at all district headquarters in the state against the Haryana Police ‘repression’ of farmers.
A delegation of the organisation visited the PGI today to enquire about the condition of Pritpal Singh, a victim of police brutality undergoing treatment.
While issuing a statement to the media, leaders of the union said that in the meeting of the state committee of the union yesterday, the matter of repression on the farm movement was discussed.
Describing this as a fascist attack against the people by the Centre, the union said Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister and Home Minister of Haryana were responsible for the illegal and unconstitutional operation of the Haryana Police by entering the territory of Punjab.
