Citrus fruits are produced in about 26 states, including Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka and Rajasthan. Kinnow has a special place among citrus fruits. This hybrid fruit is produced mostly in Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh in Rajasthan and neighbouring subdivision of Abohar in Punjab.

From nursery to the fruiting stage, outbreak of various types of pests is common in lemon class fruits. The app throws light on components such as planting, food and fertilisers, irrigation, care, major pests, diseases, fall of fruits, harvesting, nursery plant transport and installation, which will help get good quality of fruit. The app will also be helpful in organic kinnow farming.

Verma said the app would be useful to farmers, agricultural officials, agro scientists, supervisors and students.
