Langah seeks pardon from Takht again

Amritsar, June 25

Former Akali minister Sucha Singh Langah has again appealed to Akal Takht officiating Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh for atonement for his “deliberate or inadvertent follies”.

“I committed a blunder for which I am ready to face any religious punishment decided by Akal Takht and sangat. I am mentally and physically broken,” he said.

On the other hand, Giani Harpreet Singh made it clear that the Akal Takht’s verdict stood to date.

“His case could be discussed with the five high priests before deciding upon his pleas,” he said.

Sources say the former SAD MLA from Dera Baba Nanak intends to rejoin mainstream politics ahead of the 2022 Assembly poll. — TNS
