Lawrence Bishnoi gang member, mastermind behind Dera Bassi firing, held
Punjab’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in a joint operation with Mohali police, apprehended Mehfuj alias Vishal Khan, an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang, officials said on Saturday.
One pistol along with five live cartridges have been recovered from the accused, they added.
Police said Vishal was the mastermind behind the firing incident at an IELTS centre in Dera Bassi in September 2024. He had been absconding since then.
The accused, a history-sheeter, was planning to commit a crime in the tricity. He has been working on the directions of foreign-based terrorist Goldy Brar since 2023, said police.
The accused collected a weapon consignment from notorious gangster Joginder alias Joga, who had provided weapons and logistical assistance to those involved in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case.
