After some footprints of a leopard were spotted near the Chandbhan drain on the border of Muktsar and Bathinda districts, officials of the Department of Forest and Wildlife Protection have become alert and swung into action.

Jagdeep Singh Kala Sodhi, a resident of Dhulkot village here, said that, “Some footprints of a leopard were spotted near our village. Since then the farmers are worried and efforts are afoot to trace the big cat.”

Meanwhile, Karamjit Kaur, forest guard, Bhallaiana, said, “Apart from the footprints of a leopard, some dogs were also found dead near Kotli Ablu village. Our teams are arriving for the search operation. There is no need for the villagers to get panicky.”
