Five people were killed as a speeding car collided with a divider in Ludhiana past Sunday midnight.

The accident, which occurred near the Ladhowal toll plaza, was so horrific that all five bodies were severely mutilated. One person's arm and another's leg were severed.

The bodies were brought to the Civil Hospital at 1 am. The victims have not been identified yet.

The deceased were two minor girls and three youths. All of them are said to be from Jagraon.

According to reports, the car, a Hyundai Verna, was on its way from South City to Ladhowal. Due to speeding, the driver lost control over the car, and it hit a divider, overturned, and was dragged for a considerable distance.

ASI Kashmir Singh from the Ladhowal police station reached the spot and alerted the NHAI ambulance. The bodies were removed from the car and taken to the Civil Hospital.

Police say efforts are under way to contact the families of the deceased. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
