Locals said the clinic had been closed for several days. The doctor was often absent and his father would dispense medicines.
The doctor attended Greenland School, Subhash Nagar, till Class XII. The family has been living in Ludhiana since 1984, while their ancestral home is in West Bengal. His son, daughter and wife are currently in the village for a relative’s wedding.
Doctor’s father said after completing his MBBS, Jaan Nisar was in constant touch with his professors. He is currently preparing for the NEET PG exam due to which he has limited time at the clinic. He said the NIA released his son after questioning, and the family was fully prepared for the investigation as his son was innocent.
