Ludhiana’s district administration extended its Covid-19 restrictions on Sunday as the district continued to report over 1,000 cases a day.

A formal order issued by District Magistrate Varinder Kumar Sharma said it would continue having weekday curfew restrictions from 12 pm to 5 am and weekend lockdown from 12 noon on Friday to 5 am on Monday.

Punjab’s official health bulletin on Saturday reported 1,132 infections in the district on Saturday---the highest in the state---and 18 fatalities.
