Majithia: AAP behind attack on ex-Dy CM

SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia today said they would meet Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and submit videographic evidence, including CCTV footage of the Golden Temple complex to prove that the AAP government had facilitated the murderous attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Majithia said they would also demand registration of case against Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Superintendent of Police Harpal Singh Randhawa as well as other cops who had facilitated Babbar Khalsa International operative Narain Singh Chaura to reach near Sukhbir and try to assassinate him.

The SAD leader said the AAP government was indulging in dangerous event management exercise which could have serious repercussions on the peace and communal harmony in the state.

Majithia released CCTV footage wherein Randhawa can be seen meeting Chaura. The Akali leader also released footage of the SP trying to isolate Sukhbir while he was performing ‘sewa’ at the langar hall by pushing back youth leader Parambans Romana and others. “This shows that the police officer was acting as per a script,” he said.

Majithia showed how Chaura conducted a recee of Darbar Sahib on December 3 and 4.

He claimed that Chaura was facilitated by a policeman in civil dress and guided towards where Sukhbir was sitting. “Finally, Chaura went to a washroom outside the complex in what we think was to cock his semi-automatic pistol and then he was allowed to approach Sukhbir,” added the Akali leader. — TNS
