A Mohali court on Thursday extended till September 6 the judicial custody of Bikram Singh Majithia in a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act. His application for change of barrack will be taken up on August 30. The court fixed September 2 as the date on which Majithia’s counsel would be provided a copy of the chargesheet filed by the Vigilance Bureau.
The VB filed a 40,000-page chargesheet against the SAD leader on August 22. Prosecution counsel PIP Singh said the statements of more than 200 witnesses had been recorded, and that 400 bank accounts had come to light during the investigation.
