Days after issuing a warning to police chiefs across the commissionerates and districts, urging them to improve performance or face consequences, the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP Government on Friday effected a major reshuffle in Punjab Police.

Twenty-one IPS officers, including seven Senior Superintendent of Police officers, have been transferred with immediate effect on orders issued by the Secretary, Department of Home Affairs.

The highlights of the reshuffle include posting of Anti-Gangster Task Force AIG Gurmeet Chauhan as SSP, Ferozepur, and rehabilitation of Dr Jyoti Yadav, wife of Education Minister Harjot Bains, as SSP Khanna.
