The award was announced through a communication from B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog, to the Chief Secretary of Punjab. Makhu block, categorized under Zone 2 – Northern India, demonstrated remarkable improvement in various development parameters, leading to this achievement.

“The District Administration will now prepare a comprehensive Plan of Action (PoA)/Project Proposal for the allocated funds in consultation with the Central Prabhari Officer and the proposal will be submitted to NITI Aayog for final approval by the Empowered Committee of Secretaries,” said the DC.
