Abohar, July 11
A 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide after killing his wife in Karanpura village near Hanumangarh last night. The police have registered a case of murder in this regard. The bodies of the deceased couple were today brought to the government hospital in Bhadra.
According to the police, a person named Raghuveer Jat (35) killed his wife Rajbala (32) by hitting her on the head with a sharp weapon in Karanpura. Later, he allegedly consumed some poisonous substance. Rajbala died on the spot while Raghuveer was declared dead when brought to the hospital.
On the basis of the statement given by Rajbala’s brother Anil Jat (22), resident of Bharokhan, Sirsa, a case of murder has been registered against Raghuveer. Anil said that his sister was married to Raghuveer ten years ago and the couple had three children. Rajbala had come to her parents’ house last month and returned to in-laws’ house in Karanpura 14 days ago.
Claiming that the couple had some domestic issues, Anil said he got to know last night that Raghuveer had murdered Rajbala before consuming some poisonous substance.
