A resident of Dutaranwali village, 13 km from here, died after his bike collided with a stray bull last night.

The police said Ram Kamal, about 43 years of age, was returning home from Abohar on a motorcycle. They said when he reached near the village, his bike collided with a stray bull, who had suddenly come on the road, adding that Ram Kamal fell on the road and was injured.

Sadak Suraksha Force (SSF) received information about the incident, and a team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Krishan Lal reached the spot. The team administered first aid to him and brought him to the Abohar Civil Hospital. He said the doctors declared at the Civil Hospital declared him dead.

It has been learnt that the deceased was the father of two children, and now there was no eligible adult member left in the family to earn money.

Dutaranwali residents who reached the spot said the number of stray animals had been increasing every day.

They said stray animals roam near the roads, and it was risky to drive as they may come on the road at any time. They said the menace affected the Abohar-Sitto Gunno road and the Abohar-Hanumangarh road.
