Man gets life term for raping stepdaughter
Additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Special Court (POCSO), Tarntaran Singh Bindra has awarded rigorous life imprisonment to a man who repeatedly raped his minor stepdaughter in 2021.
A fine of Rs 1 lakh has also been imposed on him. The court has also ordered Rs 5-lakh compensation to the victim.
Richhpal Singh allegedly established physical relations with his 14-year-old stepdaughter in 2021. The girl’s mother alleged in the FIR that her second husband Richhpal Singh used to rape her daughter when she went out to work as a labourer in kinnow orchards. The victim is her daughter from the first husband.
A case was registered at the Khuian Sarvar police station in Abohar subdivision of Fazilka district under Section 376 of the IPC and various provisions of the POCSO Act on May 27, 2021.
