In a tragic incident, a person killed his minor son with his licensed weapon at Ghuddu Wala village in Makhu.

Kehar Singh had three acres and out of this, he had given half of the land to his son Paramjeet Singh. However, Paramjeet allegedly used to pressurise his father to transfer the land in his name.

“My son was working as a security guard in Ludhiana and was getting a good salary,” said Kehar and added that his son used to allegedly beat him to pressurise him to transfer the land. “I even agreed to transfer the land in the name of my grandson Mehakpreet, but Paramjeet did not listen to me,” he added.

As per the information, Paramjeet had come home two days ago. Today, both Kehar and Paramjeet had heated arguments, following which Paramjeet took his gun and allegedly shot at his father.

Meanwhile, Mehakpreet (13) tried to intervene and pacify his father, but in a fit of rage, Paramjeet fired at his son with his .12 bore double barrel gun. Mehakpreet died on the spot.

After the incident, Paramjeet tried to flee from the spot, but he was nabbed by the villagers. Zira DSP Sandeep Singh Mand said, “The accused has been arrested by the police and an FIR will be registered soon.”
