Raman Sharma, a resident of Dashmesh Nagri, Jalalabad, allegedly killed his wife with a pair of scissors at Ratharon Wala, Jalalabad, over a property dispute. The police have arrested the suspect. The police have also seized the pair of scissors used in the murder.

Sharma had also murdered his first wife, Reeta Sharma, in 2015, and the Jalabad City police charged him with murder under Section 302 of the IPC on May 25, 2015. The court sentenced him to life but released him some time ago.

According to the police, Sharma married Parkash Kaur (52) of Rathoran Wala in court over a year ago. Raman owns a house, a shop and two plots in Dashmesh Nagri, Jalalabad. According to the FIR, Parkash Kaur used to press him to transfer the property in her son’s and daughter-in-law’s name, resulting in frequent arguments between them.

Balwinder Singh, deceased Parkash Kaur’s son, said an enraged Raman began beating her with a pair of scissors several times on Sunday in front of his wife and a two-year-old daughter.

Seriously injured, Kaur was shifted to the Jalabad Civil Hospital, from where she was referred to the Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot. She succumbed to the injuries while receiving treatment.

Fazilka SSP Pragya Jain said the suspect was booked under Section 103(1) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita by the Jalabad City police, who arrested him around five hours after the incident.
