Ludhiana, February 3

Lashing out at the AAP-led state government, Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar said one does not become a patriot by adorning a saffron colour but needs the patriotic spirit of Bhagat Singh to work towards the welfare and interest of the country. He was in Ludhiana today to address the party workers.

“We are the armed force of this country. On does not need certificate but need emotion to safeguard our country. We need the passion of Bhagat Singh to protect our land,” Jakhar said.

Taking a jibe at CM Bhagwant Mann, he said instead of befooling people by singing ‘Challa’, the CM should start working for welfare of the people.

The state BJP chief said the people of CM’s hometown had shown the door to the party during the byelections. Today, they are expressing their anguish towards the government by staging protests and dharnas outside his house. People have realised their mistake of choosing the AAP, Jakhar added.

When asked about the Governor’s resignation, he said he has resigned due to his personal reasons.
