Former Punjab Finance Minister and BJP leader Manpreet Singh Badal's daughter Rhea Badal got engaged to Martand Singh, the grandson of Congress leader Karan Singh, today.Martand Singh is a lawyer in the Supreme Court and Delhi High Court.

The groom's father, Vikramaditya Singh, a decendent of the Dogra dynasty, shared the development through a Facebook post today, confirming the alliance of two prominent political families of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

"By the grace of Mata Rani, we are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Martand Singh, to Rhea Badal, daughter of Sardar and Sardarni Manpreet Singh Badal. Our love and blessings to them for a bright future ahead,” he posted on Saturday.

Senior Congress leader Karan Singh is the son of Maharaja Hari Singh, the last Maharaja of Kashmir.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
