Meerut cops seek Punjab Police help to nab drug supplier

The Mundali police in Meerut arrested Tasawwar, alias Chhote of Ajrada village, on August 20, following a drug seizure. During the interrogation, Tasawwar said the narcotics were supplied by Monga. The accused allegedly packed drugs in small pouches for sale and he shared profits with Tasawwar.

The Mundali police thereafter designated Monga as an accused and reportedly sent three formal requests to the Kotkapura police, asking for the cancellation or suspension of Monga’s passport, on the grounds that he might flee abroad to evade arrest.

Kotkapura’s Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar said they were making efforts to trace the accused.

With the accused still at large, the Meerut police were keeping open the possibility of invoking inter‐state coordination under the NDPS rules and the Passport Authority’s cooperation, sources said.
