A minor girl of a village near here recently gave birth to a male child. She was brought to the Civil Hospital today for conducting the new-born’s DNA test.

On May 27, the police had found the girl when she was coming from Rajasthan and handed her over to her parents, while the accused boy was arrested and sent to judicial custody.

The police said that when the girl was found, she was eight months pregnant and her age was around 17 years. She gave birth to a male child on June 12. She and the child were brought to the hospital for DNA test. Similar tests of the minor girl and the accused had already been done.

Dr Pooja and her team at the hospital did the DNA test and sent it to Kharar-based government lab for examination. The police had registered a case under the BNS and POCSO Act against the 22-year-old boy.
