Minorities' panel takes cognisance of harassment of pastor, his wife
Abohar, July 2
The Punjab State Commission for Minorities has taken cognisance of the alleged harassment of a pastor and his wife at Dhinganwali village in Abohar.
After a video went viral, Emmanuel Nahar, chairman, Punjab State Commission for Minorities, sent a team under Dr Subhash Masih Thoba to take stock of the situation. The members visited Dhinganwali and met the pastor and his wife. Members of the commission directed the DSP to investigate the case and take a stern action against the miscreants within five days.
It is pertinent to mention that pastor Sukhdev and his wife were invited by a family to offer a prayer, but some miscreants held the couple hostage and harassed them. The family concerned said the allegations of conversion were completely baseless.
