Abohar: Miscreants steal tyres, valuables after car crashes into median
Abohar, August 29
Some miscreants broke glass panes and took away tyres of a car that had to be parked near the Sadar Police Station here on Abohar-Malout Road after an accident.
The speeding car went out of control and ran over the divider on the road and met with an accident in which the owner was injured.
According to information, Ami Chand of Dhani Karnail Singh was coming towards Tehsil Road from Malout Road at around 10pm. Due to lack of visibility during heavy rain, his car jumped on the dividers at Namdev Chowk. He sustained minor injuries while his car got stuck. His brother Ranjit Singh and some of his relatives reached the spot and helped him. He was admitted to a hospital and the car was left there. When he returned in the morning, he found its glass panes broken and valuables and tyres had been stolen by someone. Police have started examining CCTV footage around the site.
In another incident, Yogesh Sharma (24) — who was working in a factory in Sriganganagar — was found badly injured on the Abohar-Sriganganagar road in Kallarkhera village. He was taken to Sriganganagar, where he died. Khuian Sarwar police have initiated an inquiry to solve the mystery behind the accident.
In a separate incident, Gurdeep Singh (45) — who was running a workshop at Ghallu village on Abohar- Fazilka Road — died when an unidentified bus hit his bike near Dangarkhera village last night. His body was brought to Abohar Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
