‘Mistaken’ WhatsApp call leads to arrest of Ravneet Bittu's close aide Rajesh Attri under SC/ST Act
Rajesh Attri, a close aide of MoS Ravneet Bittu, has been arrested under the SC/ST Act by the Civil Lines police following a complaint by a Lahori Gate resident in Patiala.
The complainant alleged that the accused used derogatory remarks against him on Sunday evening during a mistaken call on WhatsApp.
“The complainant dialed Attri’s number by mistake on WhatsApp and during that conversation, he used derogatory words against him following which an FIR was registered and the accused was arrested,” said DSP Satnam Singh.
Attri is a resident of Patiala.
Reacting to the arrest, Ravneet Bittu wrote in a post on X: “My very close associate, with whom my family has a generational relationship, Rajesh Attri, has been arrested this morning. Bhagwant Mann, drunk with power, has arrested two of my innocent associates and is conducting raids on the homes of other associates.”
Attri is associated with the Youth Congress since 2007.
