Keeping in view the spike in the number of Covid-19 cases, the Punjab Government has decided to shut all protected monuments and museums till April 10.
Sanjay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, said the infection was spreading at a fast pace and strict measures were required to check it. Places visited by a large number of people every day, including educational institutes, were the hotspots, he said.
The closed areas of museums and monuments visited by a large number of people could pose a threat to the health visitors, so it was decided to shut them, he said.
