Singer Shubhdeep Singh, alias Sidhu Moosewala, who was accused of promoting gun culture in his latest video, today appeared before Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jashandeep Singh Gill and recorded his statement.

Moosewala and singer Mankirat Aulakh were summoned after RTI activist Kuldeep Singh Khaira filed a complaint to the police commissioner on January 13, alleging violation of the High Court orders. Khaira had said the court had directed that no songs should glorify liquor, guns, violence or drugs. He had alleged that in the video of the song “Pakhiyan Pakhiyan”, Sidhu and Aulakh were seen promoting gun culture.

ACP Jashandeep said the singer’s statement had been recorded and further probe was on.

Moosewala, when coming out of the ACP’s office, reportedly had arguments with mediapersons. Some of them alleged that the singer had tried to snatch their mike and pushed them away.
