The Agriculture Department is experimenting with Pusa decomposer sent by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Delhi, but the results are not satisfactory, so more experiments will be done to help farmers in proper management of straw.

This was stated by Anirudh Tewari, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Dr Rajesh Vashisht, Director, Agriculture, while talking to mediapersons here today.

Punjab Agricultural University was also developing a decomposer and it was being tested on an experimental basis at three places in the district, but more improvement needed to be done to reach a conclusion, they said. — OC
