MP Rajinder Gupta nominated to House committee

Rajya Sabha member Rajinder Gupta has been nominated to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour, Textiles and Skill Development, a key panel overseeing policy and reforms across vital economic sectors.

Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Trident Group, Gupta is widely recognised as a leading industrialist and philanthropist with decades of hands-on experience in manufacturing, global trade and workforce development.

His appointment is expected to bring valuable industry insight to the committee, particularly at a time when India’s textile sector faces challenges such as heightened tariff pressures from the US and the need for stronger skilling frameworks for both skilled and unskilled workers.
