According to officials, a police team led by SHO SBS Nagar, Abhishek Sharma, escorted Amandeep to a canal in Buhara village, where he had allegedly hidden a pistol used in a previous crime. During the operation, Amandeep suddenly overpowered the officers, retrieved the hidden weapon, and fired at the police team. One bullet struck the SHO’s vehicle.

As the accused attempted to fire a second shot, police personnel acted in self-defense, shooting him in the leg. He collapsed on the spot and was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital in Nawanshahr. Security personnel have been deployed outside the hospital to prevent any untoward incident.
