A weapon recovery operation took a violent turn late Thursday night when a criminal, accused of attempt to murder, opened fire on a police team near Buhara village in SBS Nagar. The accused, identified as Amandeep, a resident of Garupur village (PS Aurr), was injured in retaliatory action by the police.
According to officials, a police team led by SHO SBS Nagar, Abhishek Sharma, escorted Amandeep to a canal in Buhara village, where he had allegedly hidden a pistol used in a previous crime. He also revealed that the accused has a history of criminal activities, with at least 11 cases registered against him.
