My priority will be to check menace of drugs, gangsters: Punjab officiating DGP Gaurav Yadav

Says wants to develop friendly policing in the state

Chandigarh, July 5

A 1992 Punjab cadre IPS officer, Gaurav Yadav, on Tuesday assumed office as officiating Director General of Punjab Police.

In his video message after taking over as officiating DGP, Yadav said his priority would be to check the menace of drugs and gangsters and maintain law and order.

Gaurav Yadav assumes office as officiating DGP of Punjab on Tuesday.

He said, “As per the wishes of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, I will strive to develop friendly policing in the state with the cooperation of people.”
